When I looked up at the sound of rain tapping against the window, the practice room was already washed in gray.
"You haven't left yet?"
The door opened, and a familiar voice came in.
I turned my head.
"Yeah. It's raining too hard."
He walked over to the window and looked outside. After standing there in silence for a long time, he gave a small laugh.
"You don't have an umbrella, do you?"
"...Yeah."
"Figured."
As if he already knew, he took a black umbrella out of his bag.
"Let's go together."
"It's okay. If we wait a little, it'll stop."
"It's not stopping today."
In the end, I stood beside him.
Close enough for our shoulders to brush.
The sound of the rain grew louder and louder, but between us only an unnervingly quiet air flowed.
